The Garlic Lamp (as you might have guessed by the moniker) is a simple and literal interpretation of its namesake. The shape of the pungent bulb actually makes for a great pendant shade that produces downward directional lighting as well as an ambient glow through the translucent material. Ok, ok… so it’s not for everybody, but I can totally see it in an Italian restaurant or maybe a country kitchen!

The Perfect LED Desk Lamp Finally! Someone made an LED desk lamp that can change from a cool blue color to a warmer yellow color with a touch of a button. On top of that, it has a USB port for charging. To add to that pile, it looks pretty sweet. OMG, I used the word “sweet”. I must be short on adjectives because I’m actually really excited about this lampe from Satechi. The versatile lamp was designed to meet the lighting needs of business pros, students and busy moms and features user friendly touch controls to toggle between four...

Thunder Lamp
The simplistic Thunder lamp makes great use of cutting-edge OLED technology with its 3 swiveling, modular sections that provide fully flexible positioning for custom light coverage. As for its name, the bolt-shaped lamp also pairs wirelessly with your smartphone and flashes when you have incoming calls – similar to the sound and flash with thunder and lightning!

Schproket Lights The very cool named ‘Schproket Light’ is clearly inspired by mechanics. The lighting system employs a low voltage, safe socket create this magical circle of incandescent light points. Basically designer Christopher Moulder wanted to experiment with a lighting piece that would use no wires or sockets, so he started experimenting with low voltage bulbs. Hence Schprokets are lit with high efficiency Xenon long life bulbs. Low voltage means the fixture doesn’t have to be insulated. Instead, the Schproket is the socket. They can be hung from the ceiling, horizontally or angled, singly or in stacks, in 24″, 36″...

Lights Where I Want ‘Em
The Drop Light is a unique lighting system that provides a new user interface for indoor lighting. Each lighting module can be separated from the main body to use as a free standing lamp. An electric line, located within the main body, charges the ‘drops’ via a network of tracks. The droplights contain new advance LEDs which prevent the lights from excessive heating. Awesome idea for custom lighting concepts or for emergency black situations.

Top 10 Wall Sconces As I've mentioned before in my "Tip of the Week" (which changes every week, FYI) wall sconces are a great way to both illuminate and decorate a dark, narrow hallway. The question of how to decorate a hallway is often times a stumbling block. Too much busyness on the wall can make a long, narrow corridor seem smaller. The addition of a stylish wall sconce however provides both light and wall decor! Multi-functional fixtures are what its all about! Here is my personal top 10 favorite modern and contemporary wall sconces. Do you have a favorite?...
